As the sad news about Pat Tillman makes its way around the internet, I'm reminded of this excellent commentary that I highly recommend.
Some Soldiers missed Super Bowl
UPDATE: An interesting proposal over at Spoons. As one of the comments points out, the cash-strapped Cardinals can't possibly be expected to forego that additional income, but the idea of starting a fund to buy the naming rights isn't bad.
UPDATE #2: This story about Pat Tillman appeared in the Dec. 8, 1997 issue of Sports Illustrated.

Of course, Tillman is one of thousands of heroes in Afghanistan, Iraq and elsewhere serving in the military. That shouldn't diminish his sacrifice.
When I think of Tillman or of the boys of Easy Company or of any of the unnamed Americans who served to defend our liberties, I'm so proud. I'm proud that I live in a country that can produce these men & women generation after generation.
They make a startling counterpoint to the Chomskys and Moores of the world that would tell you that America is the empire-building cause of the world's misery.
